Job Description

The Web Interface Designer will manage and coordinate all phases of the graphical design process that supports the delivery of applications and information via the University Web information services environment. This individual will blend a background in graphic arts and media design with Web technologies to ensure standards for presentation image and standards for Information Technology architecture while helping design elegant interfaces for ITS applications and other University web site.

The Web Interface Designer should have experience building web sites based on open standards and technologies that will enable the organization to build, integrate, and deploy Web-based applications quickly and easily. Will be involved in working with other groups to help translate business needs into web-based applications.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Exceptional design eye and art background
Expertise in HTML, CSS
Experience with web content management systems
Expertise in cross browser CSS issues
Understanding of application development cycles and quality assurance processes.
Proficient in Javascript
Experience with PHP, WordPress
Experience designing mobile interfaces
Experience with accessibility and 508 compliance
Excellent communication skills requried

At least 5 years experience designing interfaces using the latest Web technologies. Demonstrated success as a Web Interface Designer in a complex Web environment.
Candidates should have a solid portfolio, which demonstrates a solid understanding of web usability and design. Higher education experience preferred but not required.
