JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The FPE Laboratory Assistant will assist with assembly and installation of experimental apparatus, in support of PhD Students and service to industry projects. The Lab Assistant will assist with the operation of equipment and tools. The technician will work under the direction and supervision of both the Lab Manager and research staff. The ideal candidate will possess some experience working with tools, some experience with Python/MatLab, and also have some basic research lab experience.
This position will be for Summer 2024.

This position will be for Summer 2024.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Will adhere to safety all procedures of the fire science laboratory.
Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of equipment, manuals, data books, materials, and supplies as designated by the Lab Manager or Research Staff.
Assist in the fabrication, and assembly, of experimental setups.
Provide assistance to Research Staff as assigned.
Assist with lab demonstrations for faculty, students, and visitors when requested.
Perform housekeeping duties and lab maintenance.
Performs other lab related duties as required.
