Senior Admissions Counselor, Office of Admissions

MCCC Unit Professional position, Grade 4

Campus Location: Danvers/Lynn/Remote

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm. Evening and weekend hours required.

SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $57,249.00 - $60,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Senior Admissions Counselor will be responsible for the daily maintenance and management of all activities through the CRM. Responsible for outreach and recruitment of new students to the College. Actively interacts daily with prospective students and their families, high school guidance counselors, high school teachers, and North Shore Community College faculty and staff both in person, over the telephone and virtually. Participates in the planning, delivery and evaluation of services to students and potential students in a comprehensive student development environment, focused on providing opportunity and support to an increasingly diverse student body. Assists potential students in determining the most appropriate academic plan of study based upon their academic, career and personal goals and objectives. Assists with developing, implementing and managing the process of recruiting and admitting students; providing prospective students and their families with information regarding admissions, processes and policies; and communicating the vision, mission, culture, and the specific amount of content of NSCC's educational programs to a variety of constituencies. This position works closely with the Executive Director and Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management as well as other key stakeholders in order to enhance and develop the connections the college has with area high schools, community members and families in order to open up educational opportunities for these populations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develops, implements, and tracks the effectiveness of on-campus, off-campus, and online student recruitment activities targeting a varied student body, including increasing diverse and multicultural populations.
  2. Participates in electronic (e-mail), tele-counseling, and social media campaigns to target and/or follow-up with prospects.
  3. Consistently communicates with inquiries, applicants and new registered students through the college's CRM.
  4. Counsels, advises and maintains positive contacts with prospective students with a specialization in working with diverse/ multicultural students
  5. Establishes and maintains working relationships with guidance counselors, parents, representatives of community-based organizations, and North Shore Community College faculty and staff.
  6. Attends meetings/events, serves on committees, makes presentations, and coordinates joint ventures for the purpose of establishing and maintaining liaisons
  7. Adheres to a strong customer service orientation and works with Enrollment Services staff and the larger college community to increase access to the College and reach the College's enrollment goals.
  8. Assists in developing, coordinating, and implementing recruitment and outreach plans, objectives, and strategies, identifying new target markets and implementing new programs, services, and activities.
  9. Represents the College at fairs, alumni activities, open houses, campus tours, school visits and other recruitment events. Assists in the organization of these activities.
  10. Participates in the evaluation of the admissions and recruitment/outreach activities to assess their effectiveness in assisting students to pursue and achieve their goals.
  11. Maintains accurate data entry of all recruitment activities within NSCC student information system, CRM, in order to provide accurate recruitment and admissions statistical reports.
  12. Assists Enrollment Services as needed with application processing/entry/ document collection within CRM.
  13. Serves as a Designated School official (DSO) for North Shore Community College with the federal SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System) Program.
  14. Performs administrative and academic advisement duties related to compliance with the implementation of the federal SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System) Program for processing and tracking international students.
  15. Develops, plans and implements new recruitment events at the direction of the Enrollment Services Management Team
  16. Assists with the coordination and training as well as assigns and prioritizes work for the Student Ambassadors.
  17. Gathers, reviews, and presents new materials from other colleges to the Executive Director of Admissions and the Marketing Department in order to help with the growth of the NSCC recruitment materials.
  18. Assists the Enrollment Services team with the establishment of recruitment goals and objectives for new events and to help increase the application to enrollment yield for the admissions team.
  19. Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas by researching recruitment strategies and new trends in the profession as well as participating in professional organizations, workshops and training sessions.
  20. Serves on College committees as assigned, including but not limited to those associated with marketing, publications, communication planning, etc.
  21. Actively promotes NSCC's recruiting events through a variety of social media outlets.
  22. Assists with providing excellent, front line customer service across all departments.
  23. Participates in professional development opportunities (e.g., Teaching, Learning, and Student Development), as identified by the manager.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree with at least two years' experience in undergraduate admissions or related enrollment services area; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Community College experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish required.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with technology and database systems including Ellucian/ Banner, CRM, Navigate, Microsoft Office Suite, strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions.
  • Strong presentation skills. Outstanding public relations and customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends for such events as Open Houses, College Fairs, community engagements, graduations, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. Local travel will be 80% of the time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively establish interpersonal connection with culturally diverse populations.
  • Successful experience interacting with a culturally diverse population.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with school guidance counselors, teachers, parents, and community agency representatives.
  • Must possess high energy, flexibility thriving in a high energy environment, and have a results driven attitude and focus for student success.
  • Ability and desire to work effectively within a fast-paced, rapidly growing, intense, and multifunctional office environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment
