Responsibilities*
  • Temporary position working for the Summer Vocal Academy of Music:
  • Junior Academy and/or Senior Academy
  • Check in and check out academy students at the beginning and end of each day for the duration of each Academy
  • Escort students to their pick up location at the end of classes every day
  • Prepare and distribute choir music to students at the beginning of Academy; Collecting and sort choir music at the end of Academy
  • Assist academy student's transition between classrooms
  • Assist students locate bathrooms, vending machines, music office, water fountains
  • Oversee academy students during lunch break
  • Monitor and report any unusual activities that may occur near the camp activities to the Academy director, admin assistant, or public safety
  • Assist with printing and distributing announcements, t-shirts, picture forms to students
  • Assist academy instructors with percussion instruments, art materials, and audio equipment, if needed
  • Assist with concert preparation and stage set up before and after the concerts: move/set up choral raisers; set up sound shells, set up instruments, music stands, and other concert equipment

Required Qualifications*
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Experience working with summer camps
  • Current UM-Flint students or UM-Flint music graduates

  • Ability to complete tasks within a specific time frame
  • Ability to react fast to situations needing immediate attention
  • Ability to communicate well with parents, faculty, and staff
