In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed dentist, the Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) provides care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards for the College of Dental Medicine Clinics, with a primary role at the CDM Rancho Mirage CA site. The RDH will facilitate the efficient delivery of patient care by working as part of a multidisciplinary dental team, with the primary role as registered dental hygienist. Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of California; have a minimum of three years experience as a dental hygienist; current Basic Life SupportExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals, students and patients. Bilingual ability preferred.
Experience with electronic health records, computers, printers, calculator, fax machine, copy machine operation, and telephone operation.

Required Qualifications
Education: RDH from an institution accredited by the ADA commission of Dental Accreditation or equivalent.Licensure and Certification: Must have an active California RDH license.Experience: 3 or more years of clinical practice as an RDH Must have a valid Drivers LicenseMust maintain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an academic setting.Bi-lingual Spanish and English

Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride and sealants, and root planning. Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical and dental histories and charting in patient records. Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols
