DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day activities and operations of the assigned program. Employees in this role demonstrate expertise in relation to specific industry sector(s). This classification receives minimal supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class exercises responsibility for directing and administering the project, including supervising project personnel. This job class functions at a full supervisory level, is overtime exempt, and requires organizational, problem solving, decision making, and budgetary skills.
SUPERVISOR:Associate Vice President of Economic & Workforce Development or designee
CLASSIFICATION:Range 20 on the Administrative Salary Schedule, with a typical work schedule of 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday, 12 months per year.

This is a Classified Administrator position with a CalPERSdefault retirement system.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities:
Baccalaureate degree in closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience coordinating or managing a program or department.
Experience supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of subordinates.
Sensitivity toward the diverse student population served.
Experience in higher education managing a grant funded project is desirable.

This positionincludes travel within the region. Please be prepared to obtain the following before or upon employment:
A valid driver's license.
A personal vehicle for travel use.Mileage reimbursement paid by the District.

Placement on the Shasta College Salary Schedule is commensurate with previous education and experience.
The District does not reimburse for new hire moving expenses.
New Administrative Appointments will be placed at the step 1 on the Administrative Salary Schedule and will graduate to the next step on July 1st of the following year if they have rendered 6 months of satisfactory service, with subsequent steps annually thereafter to a maximum fifth step.

Salary placement would only be negotiable if the candidate held the same position with another community college and step 2 or 3 would be the maximum considered depending on the number of years of service.
