Description

The Biology Department at Boston College invites applications for a full time, non-tenure-track faculty position in Molecular Cell Biology, with a 3-year renewable contract. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of the Practice, and is primarily a teaching position. The successful candidate will have research interests and technical skills that can be used to develop advanced laboratory courses and electives for our biology and biochemistry majors, and will be involved in mentoring and advising students seeking advanced laboratory-based research and technical training opportunities.

Qualifications

A Ph.D., post-doctoral research experience, and several years of university teaching experience are required. The incumbent will play a significant role in the Gateway Scholars Program for STEM, an instructional support program in biology and chemistry for first generation and under-represented minority students. Thus, we are looking for candidates with experience and demonstrated success in motivating and facilitating positive educational outcomes in STEM for traditionally underserved students. The successful candidate will also be expected to explore internal and external funding opportunities for undergraduate research, participate in academic advising, and contribute to departmental and college service.

Application Instructions

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and arrange to have three letters from professional referees submitted online via interfolio at: http://apply.interfolio.com/67982.
