The College of Social Sciences Social Work at Eastern Washington University invites applications for Lead Recruitment Coordinator for their Family Resource and Training Center (FRTC).


The FRTC is the physical center that supports Idaho children and families through partnering work between Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) and the Division of Family and Community Services (FACS) and Eastern Washington University (EWU); and Eastern Washington children and families through partnering work between Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and Eastern Washington University (EWU).


The Lead Recruitment Coordinator will serve as a leader to provide coordination and sustainability of the regional recruitment and retention of Resource Families. They will have statewide responsibility for the Statewide Recruitment plan, innovative recruitment strategies, data collection and provide support for the other four Recruitment Coordinators. The positions is 100% grant funded through May 30, 2020. An extension beyond that would dependent on renewal of funding.


They will have regional responsibility for the regional recruitment plan and Resource Peer Mentor program. The position will chair, facilitate and organize the local Recruitment Advisory Council.


This position will supervise local non-student hourly employees and four Recruitment Coordinators. Collaboration, coordination, data collection, communication and reporting will be major duties of the job.


The Family Resource & Training Center is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This position will require the selected candidate to travel as needed to fulfill the position job duties, up to 20% of work time approximately. Travel may occur throughout the state and include multi-day/overnight trips. Travel will be required for supervision, training purposes, and multi-day conferences.

Conditions of Employment


This is a 100% administrative exempt position funded under a grant contract. Continuation of the position is contingent on availability of contract funding.







Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree (any field) and a minimum of three years experience in social services.

  • Child welfare experience, including understanding the responsibilities associated with child welfare systems.

  • Knowledge of working with foster care children.

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and/or supervisory skills.

  • Strong computer skills including programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, Creative Design, database, and Banner (Banner is a large multi-dimensional information system).

  • Demonstrated high degree of interest and/or experience promoting cultural competency and diversity

  • Ability to travel as described in the job advertisement, as needed, up to 20%.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed social worker.

  • At least two years supervisory experience.

  • Five or more years experience in social services.

  • Organizational leadership and/or program development experience.
