Job Description:
This position serves as the Installation Manager for the D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University's (IVMF) Onward to Opportunity (O2O) program in the Fort Liberty and Fayetteville, NC military community. This position will be part of a team delivering a comprehensive, best-in-class, education, and skills-training program to assist transitioning service members, members of the National Guard/Reserve, veterans, military spouses across high-demand industry sectors and occupations through the provision of industry-specific skills and credentials. This position will be based in Fayetteville, NC at or near the Fort Liberty area, and will be responsible for conducting relationship management, recruitment, referral, program coordination, and execution for that military installation. This position coordinates services with the location's Installation Program Coordinator (if assigned), the IVMF enrollment, advising, and alumni teams, as well as external community. This position will report directly to the O2O Senior Program Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred).
  • Five (5) plus years of program management experience required.
  • Experience in strategic planning and evaluating progress.
  • Experience working with veterans and/or military families.
  • Prior service in the United States military preferred.


Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, training, advocacy, and negotiations.
  • Experience and skill with developing relationships with senior leaders and managing stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as SkillSoft, Metrix, or Moodle.
  • Familiarity with government programs and services for transitioning service members and families, veterans, veteran families, person with disabilities, mental health, substance abuse, housing, education or other relevant veteran and family issues.


Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the on-site liaison for all program participants, instructors, collaborators, and sponsors.
  • Continuously build the relationships and open lines of communication with military installation leadership and area commanders.
  • Develop an effective outreach and recruiting plan for attracting transitioning service members, military spouses, member of the National Guard/Reserve and military veterans.
  • Actively recruit by leveraging on base opportunities and organizations (Transition Assistance Program, Service Member and Family Assistance Center, Career Center).
  • Organize and coordinate area meetings and quarterly calls to effectively build awareness and coordination.
  • Facilitate program meeting and event space (physical and virtual), and Audio/Visual requirements and other logistics to facilitate information sessions, cohort launches, and employer engagement activities.
  • Cultivate appropriate relationships with interested applicants.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative program analysis to sustain program operation and align with industry best practices.
  • Provide candidate pools for each training track.
  • Managerial responsibilities for Program Coordinator if assigned.
  • Lead and conduct program in person and virtual information sessions, orientations, and cohort delivery.
  • Manage the intake assessment, and registration process for all applicants in tangent with IVMF advising team to coach program participants to pathway completion and employment.
  • Coordinate access for all administrators, participants and instructors and assist with technical issues or facilitate their resolution.
  • Develop class schedule, agendas, and recruit instructors/speakers for employer spotlights.
  • Ensure coordination of referral and placement of participants with local and national employer partners.
  • Ensure graduates are provided with follow-on resources (employment resource toolkits, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and distributing ongoing marketing initiatives, including presentations, brochures, press releases, social media, and other promotional materials.
  • Utilize and share surveys with Director and Program Staff to continue to improve and evolve programming and participant experience and outcomes.
  • Assist in cultivating and pursuing sponsors, funding, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Track and conduct quantitative and qualitative program analysis with a demonstrated understanding of how data translates to influencing business decisions.
  • Continually identify further avenues to assess and improve program performance.
  • Complete timely writing and submission of program reports on progress as required.
  • Coordinate with visitors and collaborators on projects, funding, travel, events, visits, and other activities as needed in support of the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
