Working Title: Director of Budget Services

Job Summary/Essential Functions: The recruitment period for this position began January 4, 2013 and will be open until further notice. Review of applications will begin after January 21, 2013. After January 21, 2013, three days notice will be given prior to closure of this recruitment.

This position will oversee the strategic development, administration, implementation, and control of a multi-million dollar operating and capital budget, including state and local funds.

Conditions of Employment: This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background.

Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
-Five years of experience in a college/university or government sector budget, financial or auditing environment.
-Experience supervising professional accountants and support staff.
-Experience with integrated enterprise level accounting software systems.
-Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
-Experience with administrative accounting systems, relational databases, data warehouses, and internet/web page management
-Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity

Preferred Qualifications: -Advanced degree or professional certification in a related field.
-Direct experience managing university-wide or agency-wide budgets.
-More than five years of progressively responsible experience in a college/university or government sector budget, financial, or auditing environment.
-Understanding of governmental fund accounting and GASB financial reporting requirements
-More than three years experience supervising professional accountants and support staff.
-Experience monitoring, reviewing, and interpreting state or federal bill language
-Specific experience with Banner administrative systems (Finance, HR/Payroll), relational databases (Microsoft Access), data warehouses (Discoverer/Operational Data Store), and internet/web page management (Cold Fusion/Content Management System)
