Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director for Design and Delivery Operations, the Course Manager for Wharton Online programs will manage all aspects of delivering a portfolio of synchronous, asynchronous and blended courses that are a part of the Wharton Online portfolio of programs within Wharton Executive Education. This role will be responsible for building and delivering both asynchronous and synchronous aspects of the programs in the Wharton Online portfolio, for both Open Enrollment and Custom programs. Specific tasks include: working and partnering with the faculty, program participants, and L&D partners from companies who sponsor custom programs; coordinating with staff from all business units within Wharton Executive Education, support Business Development team in securing new opportunities, and work with platform partners. Additional tasks include: managing and curating content; building course learning sites, monitoring discussion forums, and the care and feeding of online communities as needed; coordinating and managing aspects of logistics of remote delivery, communication and learner interaction related to the running of programs in Wharton Online portfolio; and assisting in faculty video shoots. With responsibility for all facets of online course management, the Course Manager ensures that all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the learner's experience from enrollment to program completion including communication, addressing inquiries, issuing credentials, and all aspect of delivery of synchronous online programs and a blend of synchronous and asynchronous programs; both open enrollment and custom in Wharton Online portfolio. Work with program faculty and instructional design team to build and/or update the program learning site.
  • Coordinate with faculty, WEE staff, and external partners (e.g., platform providers) to ensure effective delivery of programs including providing IT support to faculty and participants during program delivery.
  • Manage and curate content in online communities, discussion forums, both pre-program, during the program and post-program to provide a seamless learning experience for participants.


Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in classroom teaching is preferred.
  • Expertise in using commonly used live meeting platforms, proven ability to support faculty in classrooms dedicated to synchronous teaching, provide IT helpdesk support to both faculty and participants, moderate discussion forums. Demonstrated passion and willingness to learn and stay ahead of new learning methods and technologies is required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals in a customer-facing situation required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and working hours is required in order to support LIVE courses which run 24/7.
