Job Summary/Basic Function:
General Description:
Performs varied clerical and bookkeeping duties associated with all phases of the Cashier's Office. Duties include: collecting, posting, and custody of cash and fee payments.
Reports To: Assistant Director of Student Business Services
Limitations: Work involves the exercise of independent judgment within established University and department guidelines. Supervision is normally available, but incumbent is expected to resolve work problems as they arise, make independent decisions, and work on most assignments with substantial independence.

General Qualifications
Experience:
Requires two years of related experience in cashiering, reconciliations, receivables, and collection agency procedures. Must be accurate in making computations and in making change. Prefer experience in preparing bank deposits, credit card transactions (balancing & reconciliation), NSF check collection procedures, internal controls, and cashiering within a financial institution. Should have extensive data entry experience, 10-key by touch, cash register, copiers, typewriters, P/C, mainframe computer terminal, and credit card terminals.
Education:
Requires high school diploma, including or supplemented by coursework in bookkeeping, business procedures, data entry, etc.
