EWU Dining Services is looking for a Bakery Production Supervisor (Food Service Supervisor 1). The position will outline daily and weekly assignments and production volumes based on requested products, catering orders and operational needs. Inventory and requisition supplies and goods for bakery operations. Schedule staff and monitor labor. Participate in daily production performing skilled bakery work. Supervise and instruct staff in baking operations and sanitation. Store products and ingredients, monitor rotation and utilization of product.. Recipe development and product testing. Maintain written records, work schedules, attendance and leave reports, procurement reports, and related documentation. Supervise and train food service staff.

Conditions of Employment

This position requires a valid food handler's permit and a driver's license.

This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends.

This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 18.

Successful applicants will be required to pass a background check.


This is an agency shop position.




Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Repetitive motion of hands and arms. Fine manipulation of hands and fingers.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license

  • Current food handler's permit

  • Associate degree in food service management, nutritional care or related field
    OR two years of experience in institution or restaurant food service

  • Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of high volume baking experience.

  • 2 years of food service supervision experience.

  • 2 years of institutional or university food service experience.
