Job Description

The Associate/Assistant Director, Annual Giving Programs reports to the Director, Annual Giving Programs. The Annual Giving Program team is charged with developing an ever-increasing community of like-minded supporters through fundraising events, donor recognition events, annual leadership giving stewardship, and other opportunities to further engage and recognize those that annually support BC at the highest levels.

The Associate/Assistant Director, in partnership with the Director and the frontline fundraising team, will execute cultivation and stewardship strategies for our annual leadership donors by developing best practices to ensure retention and growth with these key constituents. Responsibilities include planning exclusive gatherings for annual donors at the $10K-level and above, acting as a point-person for all engagement activities happening within University Advancement, and working directly with frontline fundraising staff members on pipeline movement strategies. Additionally, the Associate/Assistant Director will strategize and execute meaningful benefits and timely recognition for the 1863 Society and BC Law Dean's Council members, creating a deeper level of engagement with BC and BC Law alumni. Internal collaboration with the Stewardship Donor Engagement and the Alumni Association teams will be key to the success of this position.

The Associate/Assistant Director will be the point person on all 1863 Society and Law Dean's Council marketing materials in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team as well as with the Participation team.

The Associate/Assistant Director will support the Director on special projects such as faculty fundraising initiatives, the Presidential Consultation Program for Emerging Leaders, Pops on the Heights, and The Wall Street Council Tribute Dinner.

Assistant Director: minimum 2-3 years of fundraising or directly related experience: $56,700- $70,900
Associate Director, minimum 4-6 years of fundraising or directly related experience: $62,650- $78,300





Requirements

This position requires excellent organizational skills, project management skills and great attention to detail. To be successful, the Associate/Assistant Director must have the ability to work individually as well as in a team setting. Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.

Bachelor's degree; 2-3 years of professional experience with writing and/or, editing preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment; an understanding of fundraising expected for Assistant Director level and 4-6 for Associate Director level; donor relations experience highly desirable; ability to think strategically is necessary. Travel and occasional evening and weekend work required.
