Job Description
Assistant Director, Career Education - Healthcare and Nursing
As a critical member of the Boston College Career Center Career Education team, the Assistant Director serves as a career coach within a designated career cluster, in this case, Healthcare and Nursing. This role is responsible for one-on-one career coaching, career programming, networking events, other related educational events and employer engagement. The Assistant Director must be extremely relatable to students, a strong relationship builder (with diverse stakeholders including alumni, employers and faculty), adept at event management and adaptable to changing trends in student interests, and market trends. As the Career Center is committed to addressing issues around diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work, the Assistant Director also must be genuinely committed to engaging in meaningful dialogue and pursuing action that will improve social and racial justice.
In addition, the individual in this role works closely with all members of the Career Center team and operates within the broader vision and mission of the Career Center to empower students to pursue lives of meaning and impact. The Assistant Director's work will be informed by our career development model - Explore, Prepare, Act - which considers the needs of students at each stage of this process. The Center embraces the value of a Jesuit liberal arts education, which prepares students to discern their gifts and talents and how they want to use them to engage the world, regardless of their background.

3 plus years experience - $62,640 - 78,300
0-3 years experience - $56,720 - $70,900
Requirements
- Master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, Human Resource
- Management, professional degree, or related degree preferred; or industry experience in a related career field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous experience coaching students on career or related issues
- Commitment to working with diverse populations (e.g. AHANA, LGBTQ, first generation)
- Ability to design, deliver, and present to students and colleagues at workshops and special events
- Experience in developing and implementing career-related programming and/or training
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented working style and the ability to multitask and thrive in a changing, dynamic environment
