Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving Programs, The Assistant Director of Annual Giving Programs Operations will be an integral member of the Annual Giving Programs team. They will help to assess the effectiveness of programs whose purpose is to deepen the relationship of attendees who are current and/or prospective lead annual donors with BC and move them through the annual giving pipeline. Using a variety of quantitative-based skills, this person will analyze trends in event attendance, volunteer participation and responses to targeted communications in order to support the success of the team in reaching their goals as well as identify areas of growth and opportunity.

Working closely with the Director of Annual Giving Programs the Assistant Director will also help to set current use goals based on the pipeline movement of prospects and monitor the progress towards these goals. Additionally, working with the Director, the Assistant Director will assess the return on investment for the Catalyst Funds fundraising initiative, which is focused on increasing current use gifts to BC of $10,000, and will drive our current use cash goals as well as grow our annual leadership donor base for the major gift pipeline. This position will also lead the stewardship activities to recognize Catalyst Funds donors bi-annually.
This position will also have limited volunteer management responsibilities, working on the frontlines to hear firsthand about the experiences of alumni and assess the best opportunities to deepen the relationship with BC. The Assistant Director will manage a group of peer-to-peer solicitation volunteers such as a reunion class fundraising committee or the Neenan Society Council.

The ideal candidate will have a depth of knowledge about best practices in the intersection of engagement activities leading to larger philanthropic support, which they can then develop for BC. They will be a thought partner with the Director as well as be creative and self-driven in their approach to their work. The expectation is that they will collaborate with colleagues across Advancement including Marketing and Communications, Events, Athletics, Annual and Leadership Giving, Major Gifts and Research.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $51,350 to $64,200; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree a minimum of one to three years of professional level experience in higher education or a minimum of two years professional experience in a relatable area.. This position requires superior communication skillsboth in writing and orally, and the ability to communicate effectively to such diverse audiences as faculty, University as well as Advancement staff, and current and prospective donors. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects, setting deadlines and ensuring program accountability. Must be able manage, track, and analyze data. Also able to maintain confidentiality of frequently sensitive information. Must also be highly competent in MSExcel, knowledgeable in MSWord, and, Google Docs, and comfortable with CRM software applications. Occasional evening and weekend event work. Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
