The Finance, Real Estate and Law Department in the College of Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2019. Candidate's specializations in Business Law are especially welcomed to apply.

The Position: The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate classes in business law and international law. The successful candidate must also have a strong commitment to research and scholarly activities, and service to the Department, College, University and Community. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.), including completion of graduate-level business law coursework, from an ABA-approved law school. Candidates in the final stage may apply, but a Juris Doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2019.

Maintain an active state law license

Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching business law, international business law, and/or contract law courses

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and/or service and work as well as experience in engaging with and working in an inclusive environment

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

Significant undergraduate and graduate coursework in business

Corporate law experience and background

Previous publications in law journals or law reviews

Business related law practice

Teaching experience at university level

Experience in Financial Planning
