The Area Coordinator of Programming, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion must be able to effectively handle complex situations; work calmly and accurately to de-escalate situations and resolve escalated issues through constructive and creative approaches.

Campus Housing is currently seeking an Area Coordinator of Programming, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ACPDEI). The Area Coordinator the daily operations and management of academic and culturally based residential initiatives including living-learning communities, Faculty-in-residence programs, affinity spaces, residential curriculum implementation, and academic interventions. This position includes leadership, management, and oversight for the development and implementation of a comprehensive curricular residence life program that focuses on academic retention and student development and the continued development of a faculty-in-residence program. This position works with student conduct; crisis response; diversity and inclusion; leadership, advising; assessment; staff development, selection, recruitment, training and evaluation, and administration. This position directly supervises 15-17 student staff members, one graduate assistant, and five student-led affinity spaces. This position involves making timely, well-informed decisions, using professional judgment in complex situations; and demonstrating critical, creative, and reflective thinking skills and has budgetary oversight. This is a live-on position that serves in an on-call capacity that provides direct crisis intervention, counseling, and conflict resolution for residents and consultation & coaching for supervisees engaged in crisis response.

The position requires a master's degree in student development, higher education, counseling, management, public administration, sociology, or a related field required a Minimum of 2 years of residence life supervisory and budgetary experience, preferably in higher education. Working knowledge of databases and general computer skills.
