Job Summary
Dr. Yitong Xin is looking to hire a Grad Student NoTB (job code 1632) to support the research team's growing portfolio of studies on psychedelic-assisted therapies, substance use, and trauma-informed care. This position will primarily support quantitative data analysis and scientific writing for projects on psychedelic research and mental health. This position is not eligible for the Graduate Tuition Benefit Program.
Responsibilities
- Quantitative data analysis using R, SPSS, or similar statistical hardware
- Data management, cleaning, and quality checks for survey and longitudinal datasets
- Variable construction, scale scoring, and reliability/validity checks
- Preparation of publication-ready tables and figures
- Supporting power analyses and sample size calculations for new studies
- Drafting and editing Methods and Results sections of manuscripts
- Synthesizing literature for introduction and discussion sections
- Literature searches, article screening, and reference management using Covidence or similar tools
- Survey data extraction and processing from Qualtrics, REDCap, or similar platforms
- Supporting IRB submissions, amendments, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinating participant compensation and tracking reimbursements
- Creating research summaries, infographics, and dissemination materials
- Program coordination support (e.g., maintaining study files, meeting notes, team communications)
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
- Current enrollment as a graduate student at the University of Utah
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or College of Social Work Ph.D program
- Background or coursework in biostatistics, epidemiology, or quantitative methods
- Experience with advanced statistical methods (e.g., multivariate regression, latent class/profile analysis, structural equation modeling, factor analysis, canonical correlation analysis)
- Prior peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations
- Advance analysis in Mplus, SPSS, R
- Familiarity with REDCap, Qualtrics, or similar platforms
- Coursework or clinical experience related to substance use, trauma-informed care, or mental health
- Interest in developing research skills toward academic or clinical career goals
