What We Are Looking For

The First in Line Program Manager supports the success of first-generation college students at Baylor University. This role oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of First in Line (FIL) programming, including student leadership, scholarship processes, and campus collaborations. The position serves as the primary point of contact for FIL initiatives and represents Baylor in national organizations supporting first-generation students. The program manager also manages program budgets, data reporting, and supervises student workers.

A Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant work experience is required. A Master's Degree and five years of relevant work experience is preferred in higher education or a related field.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of First in Line programming and support initiatives
  • Serve as the primary contact for FIL programming, student leadership, scholarship processes, and campus collaborations
  • Develop strategic actions to support and celebrate first-generation students
  • Represent Baylor University with national organizations such as NASPA's First Scholars and First-Gen Forward
  • Manage the oversight of the First in Line New Student Experience course; Serve as instructor, as needed
  • Contribute recommendations for strategic plans and systemic support for the First in Line community
  • Collaborate with upper-level management to improve program success and resources
  • Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster support and collaboration
  • Manage records including scholarship applications, FILSA Scholars, and program data
  • Develop and maintain databases to assess program success
  • Prepare reports highlighting first-generation student performance and engagement
  • Manage FIL programming budgets and support the management of excellence funds, and scholarship distributions
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure best practices
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with university policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
