Job Description:

Position Purpose:

The Project Manager at the School of Public Health (Center for Climate, Environment and Health) manages and directs the day-to-day administrative and research operations of active projects including managing communications, data, and overseeing workflow. The position is responsible for organizing the project team to meet milestones, timelines, and on-time deliverables; managing data collection, documents, and data; assisting with mentoring students and other staff (as needed); and taking a lead role on progress reports, manuscripts, conference presentations, and IRB applications. With regard to quantitative aspects, the Project Director is responsible for contributing to protocol development, directing students to relevant quantitative training and data opportunities and supervising research assistants in these efforts, interpreting findings, and contributing substantively to dissemination efforts such as manuscripts and conference presentations. With the finance department, helps manage invoicing and project spending/projections. With the Principle Investigator (PI)I, this position is responsible for managing communication with internal and external collaborators, project budgeting, and relevant funder required reporting.

This position is hybrid eligible.

This full-time fixed-term position has an end-date of 5/31/2027 and may be extended based on the availability of grant funding.

Job Qualifications and Competencies

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Master's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in quantitative research, including the design, conduct, and analysis of quantitative research , preferred.
  • Proficiency with R or other quantitative analysis software, preferred
  • Experience in the field of public health
  • Experience working with IRB applications



Job Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of research ethics and requirements
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office suite, Google suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Knowledge of research design, measurement issues, and sampling.
  • Demonstrate ability in project direction by independently identifying potential operational bottlenecks and implementing study-wide solutions without direct supervision.
