(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Provides direct support to the department management in facilitating the daily receiving and distribution logistics of the KSU Bookstore operation. That support includes but not limited to, accepting deliveries, accurate and timely receiving of goods both physically and into the inventory control system, transfer and delivery of merchandise to various locations and departments, maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse facility, paperwork flow, care and maintenance of equipment, shipping out of returns and other items, etc. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment and assists with the establishment of and adherence to sound warehousing and logistics processes and procedures. Requires frequent use of campus vehicles, to include box trucks, and calls for regular travel and/or deliveries to various campus destinations.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists the department management with the handling and oversight of all daily receiving and distribution logistics specifically for KSU Bookstore related merchandise, fixtures, supplies, etc. and as needed, for other division entities
2. Directly conducts and/or facilitates the loading and/or unloading of vehicles, transfer and delivery of merchandise, fixtures, supplies, etc. daily and multiple times daily both from and to the warehouse and various bookstore, retail services, or other campus and/or off-campus locations
3. Assures merchandise is accurately received in a timely manner, to include verifying goods received, damages, shortages and/or discrepancies are recorded and reported appropriately, assuring pricing and barcodes are accurate, etc.
4. Assists with establishing and maintaining organized storage of merchandise, supplies, fixtures, and other items residing in the warehouse space as well as sees to maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse space on a daily basis
5. Assists with accurate and timely entry of receiving data into the inventory control system as well as the timely flow of related paperwork to the accounting offices or other relevant locations
6. Assists department management with hiring, training, and supervision of student assistant staffing
7. Works closely with buyers, accounting staff, vendors, shippers, and other relevant parties as needed regarding any warehousing and logistical issues
8. Assists with preparation for, setup, breakdown, etc. for various special events at varying on and off-campus locations as needed
9. Ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies
10. Helps facilitate return of product for Text and General Merchandise (GM) teams as well as others

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
One (1) year of experience in related field

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Ability to operate various equipment relate to role and department

Preferred Experience
Previous experience with warehouse logistics and distribution

Proposed Salary

The salary range for this position is $14.66 to $17.60 per hour based on relevant experience.

Able to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions, interpret campus maps and basic drawings

KNOWLEDGE
Understands and applies University and Departmental policies and procedures

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
