Job Summary:

Hours: This is a part-time role, expected to be between .2 - .4 FTE.

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for part-time Faculty Primary Care Integrated Tele-Psychiatrist/ Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner position. The Adult Division Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical coverage of services as an Integrated Telepsychiatrist within family medicine. They will be part of a psychiatric team that includes addiction and child services. They will provide virtual consultative services to family medicine physicians and work with an interdisciplinary team of psychology, nursing, and other staff. This position serves clinics in Family Medicine across the front range including UCHealth Lone Tree Primary Care, UCHealth Family Medicine Boulder, UCHealth Family Medicine Westminster, UCHealth AF Williams Family Medicine Central Park, CU Family Medicine Landmark, CU Family Medicine Centennial, CU Family Medicine Louisville, CU Family Medicine Aurora Wellness Community Health Center and potentially other clinics.

A primary expectation is providing evidence-based recommendations with effective interpersonal communication that supports team-based care. This position is primarily a telehealth role, although infrequent in-person clinic visits may be indicated to support rapport and professional relationships within your clinic. We strive for whole person care and support the PCP team. We generally see patients for short-term care providing recommendations to the PCP until the patient is progressing, and care can be continued by the PCP, or we will support appropriate bridging to establish with longer term mental health care. The patient population is diverse and includes underserved populations who live along the front range from Boulder to Lone Tree.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform psychiatric consultations and evaluations that include assessment, diagnostic clarification, and bio-psycho-social conceptualizations
  • Provide medication management recommendations with review of side effects and indications
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients around diagnosis, next steps, and treatment options
  • Clear communication with patient and team regarding assessment, next steps, and treatment recommendations
  • Thorough documentation that clearly delineates a differential and thought process for both diagnostic considerations, clinical decision making and evidence-based treatment recommendations. Documentation needs to be easily understood by patients, family physician, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide recommendations and be willing to discuss questions and options with both provider and patient
  • Professional and respectful coordination with Interdisciplinary Team and Staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Adjoint Instructor:

MD/DO:
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO
  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must have prior experience in psychiatric setting, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

NP:
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Board Certification including PMHNP with American Nurse Credentialing Agency or equivalent certification body
  • Active and unrestricted license in Colorado as an APN/RXN

Adjoint Sr. Instructor:
  • MD/DO
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO
  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must have prior experience in psychiatric setting, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

NP:
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Board Certification including PMHNP with American Nurse Credentialing Agency or equivalent certification body
  • Active and unrestricted license in Colorado as an APN/RXN

Adjoint Assistant Professor:
  • MD/DO
  • 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO
  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must have prior experience in psychiatric setting, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

Adjoint Associate Professor:
  • MD/DO
  • 4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO
  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must have prior experience in psychiatric setting, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.

Adjoint Professor:
  • MD/DO
  • 7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum degree qualifications: Board Certification in Psychiatry MD and/or DO
  • Applicants must possess a Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry
  • Must have prior experience in psychiatric setting, academic/residency program-related experience highly desirable.
