Post Doc Research Associate

Job Summary

The University of Utah College of Nursing (CON) is seeking post-doctoral candidates to continue their doctoral training as part of a mentored program and to participate in collaborative team science with CON faculty, students, and other post-doctoral trainees. This program requires a full-time commitment with residence in Utah.

These traineeships will focus on understanding how conditions of daily life influence health outcomes across clinical and real-world settings. Training will build on the program's strengths in social, behavioral, and contextual determinants of health and will leverage the breadth of College of Nursing faculty expertise and University of Utah research centers. Trainees will have opportunities to develop and test health interventions using data science approaches, pragmatic trial designs, and partnerships across healthcare and community-based settings, including rural contexts.

Trainees will work with interdisciplinary faculty to advance research that is innovative, methodologically rigorous, and responsive to current and emerging health challenges. The training experience supports discovery and intervention development aimed at improving health outcomes and care delivery across clinical, community, and policy environments.

Each trainee will participate in a two-year program (year two is contingent upon performance) consisting of a combination of mentored research and career development, seminars, a journal club, trainee interest groups, visiting scholars, conference-based learning, grant writing club, and course work. These scientists will gain the knowledge, expertise, and leadership skills to lead innovative programs of research.

In addition to an annual salary based on experience, each fellow will have $1,500 available for travel to a conference related to their research focus and $1,500 for research-related expenses.
