(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Audio Visual team, including engineers, specialists, and managers. Leads the architecture, design, installation, configuration, programming, testing, maintenance, and upgrade of complex AV systems across classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces at all KSU sites. Ensures that AV standards are applied consistently, projects are delivered with quality and reliability, and vendor work meets university requirements. Forecasts labor and material expenses for new projects and lifecycle system upgrades. Provides technical leadership, directs the work of staff, and serves as the top-level escalation point for advanced AV issues.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises the assigned team, including engineers, specialists, and managers, providing direction, coaching, performance management, and accountability for day-to-day AV operations, classroom technology support, repairs, and asset management
2. Ensures alignment between strategic AV initiatives and operational execution, maintaining enterprise standards and high levels of customer satisfaction
3. Provides leadership during critical outages, delegating response activities through the Manager while serving as final escalation point
4. Develops staffing strategies, training plans, and succession planning
5. Leads the design and standardization of enterprise AV systems and programs, ensuring stability, security, and recoverability across university environments
6. Oversees the full lifecycle of AV projects, including requirements gathering, design, deployment, and vendor management
7. Reviews and validates proposed changes for impact on enterprise AV posture
8. Defines and enforces quality control standards, ensuring vendor and internal work meets specifications
9. Generates scopes of work, materials lists, vendor quotes, and statements of work
10. Maintains a central database of AV configurations, designs, and components
11. Establishes and manages project schedules, providing regular progress and completion reports
12. Forecasts labor and material expenses for projects and lifecycle upgrades
13. Automates system management tasks and oversees departmental automation solutions
14. Provides training and mentoring for AV engineers, support staff, and technicians across the department
15. Stays current with technology trends to continually enhance university AV standards and customer experience
16. Ensures on-call support for enterprise-level AV incidents during nights and weekends
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Extron Control Professional certification within six (6) months of employment.
Required Experience
Seven (7) years of related IT experience demonstrating the progression of dealing with increasingly complex systems.

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Previous experience working in higher education
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience

KNOWLEDGE
Extensive knowledge of enterprise audio visual system design
In-depth knowledge of enterprise Audio-Visual switching, routing, multiplexers, control systems, display devices, scalers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, cameras, lighting controls, media players, ADA devices, power controllers, rack layout, related software, lecterns, and instructor workstations
Must be well versed in current and emerging technologies, technological trends, and industry best practices for their areas of responsibility
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with demonstrated ability to direct managers and technical staff
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
