Job Summary
Workforce Operations Management
This role serves as the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine's primary overseer of faculty workforce actions, with a focus on academic faculty but holding oversight of clinical attending and adjunct faculty operations.
The individual in this role serves as primary expert and liaison for Faculty and Academic Affairs, ensuring compliance with both School of Medicine and departmental policies while maintaining streamlined internal processes and clear cross-department communication.

Responsibilities
Act as department Expert on Faculty/Academic Affairs policies and procedures, and the main person of contact for the Office for Faculty Affairs
Oversight of annual FRA, CFR/TFR, CAV process and internal renewals, and staying well versed/informed on annual Faculty Affairs updates and documentation changes
Shepherd and oversee academic faculty workforce operations through employment lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, and onboarding; contracting; FTE management; disciplinary actions; terminations; and off-boarding
Manage team administering workforce action for all department faculty types
In consultation with department leadership, create streamlined and efficient procedures for department workforce action

Manager, Workforce Operations ManagementManage human resource function in university department or division. Lead, develop, and implement unit-level plans, policies, and strategies supporting human resource business objectives. Create and track key departmental performance metrics. Coordinate and lead daily team activities. Assists unit with human resource management decisions and activities. Working knowledge of human resource function within the organization. Work with University HR Management to resolve escalated human resource issues and concerns. First-level manager. Manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadership skills.Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.This is a Manager-Level position in the Management track.Job Code: M21023Grade: M18Expected Pay Range: $81,000 - $101,000
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Manager, Workforce Operations Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Experience with University of Utah Office for Faculty Affairs policies and procedures.
