Responsibilities:

The College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University seeks applicants for Part-Time Lecturer to teach a graduate-level course in data analytics, Big Data for Cities. The course utilizes large public datasets to develop knowledge about visual methods for analyzing data and communicating results.

Position availability is for Spring 2023 with potential for future teaching, dependent upon enrollments and departmental needs. The Spring 2023 course is fully online.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Part-Time Lecturers are responsible for managing the course, administering assignments or exams, holding appropriate office hours, and grading.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have demonstrated commitment to and experience in graduate teaching, with a minimum of teaching assistant experience in a similar course required.

Required skillset includes advanced data analytics, statistics, and R. We especially welcome candidates with applied research or practitioner experience that grounds teaching in real world examples.

Master's degree required; Ph.D. or ABD preferred.
