Job Summary/Basic Function:
Lamar University seeks an energetic and productive Chair for the Department of Biology. Lamar University is a state-supported institution with approximately 15,000 students located in Beaumont, Texas, close to the Gulf of Mexico and 90 minutes from Houston. A part of the College of Arts and Sciences, the department offers undergraduate degrees in Biology and Environmental Science, as well as a Master's degree in Biology.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in the biological sciences. A documented record of scholarship, including funded external grants and publications, is required for the senior level appointment. Prior administrative experience is strongly preferred. Applicants should have a documented record of leadership, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
