Salesforce Developer/Administrator, Graduate & Executive Education Programs

Job Summary

The David Eccles School of Business is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented Salesforce Developer/Administrator to support Graduate Programs and Executive Education within the school's central Salesforce environment. This role will work closely with the Salesforce Team Lead and Lead Developer to deliver technical solutions, maintain and enhance existing functionality, and support the continued evolution of the school's Salesforce platform.

The successful candidate will build upon established Salesforce architecture, data models, integrations, and development patterns rather than develop solutions in isolation. Working under the direction of the Team Lead and Lead Developer, this individual will collaborate with technical colleagues and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions that align with existing standards and long-term platform goals.

Documentation, data analysis, and collaboration are essential to success in this role. The position requires someone who can understand complex business processes and data relationships, evaluate existing functionality, identify opportunities for improvement, and clearly document technical designs, system behavior, data flows, and implementation decisions. The individual should be comfortable working across configuration, Apex development, integrations, and reporting to address business needs while preserving the integrity and sustainability of the existing Salesforce environment.

  • Salesforce Org Migration & Enhancement: Contribute to the migration to a new Salesforce org by supporting data transitions, application enhancements, testing, and documentation. Ensure the new environment builds upon established architecture and aligns with the school's broader Salesforce strategy.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing workflows and system functionality to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, data quality, reporting, and the experience of Salesforce users.

Governance, Security & Quality Assurance
  • Architecture & Standards: Follow the technical direction, architectural decisions, coding standards, security requirements, and data governance practices established by the Salesforce Team Lead and Lead Developer.
  • Testing & Release Management: Develop and execute appropriate testing strategies, document results, support deployment activities, and verify that changes function as intended without disrupting existing processes.
  • Security & Data Protection: Follow established access controls, sharing models, secure coding practices, and university data management requirements when developing and maintaining Salesforce functionality.
  • Maintainability & Sustainability: Consider the long-term implications of technical decisions and prioritize solutions that are understandable, supportable, and consistent with the existing environment.
