The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be Board Certified in Family Medicine. Fellowship training or a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) is not required. Applicant qualifications include having a commitment to comprehensive Family Medicine across the lifespan, enthusiasm for teaching residents and students, and commitment to equitable, patient-centered care.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and supervision of Family Medicine residents and medical students in the outpatient setting. Participation in residency and medical student education. Opportunities for curricular leadership as your career progresses.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient Family Medicine, providing care to a diverse patient population of all ages. The practice offers a broad scope of services, including gender-affirming care, office-based procedures, addiction medicine services, pediatric care and sports medicine. Additional clinical opportunities for interested candidates might include: Dedicated prenatal care sessions at an FQHC or within the Family Medicine practice. Inpatient adult medicine on the Family Medicine teaching service at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Teaching and supervision in ambulatory, maternity, and inpatient settings. Clinical care at community partner sites such as West Philadelphia High School and FQHCs.
This full-time faculty position is based at the department's center city practice on the campus of Pennsylvania Hospital. This practice provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages as well as gynecologic and other procedural care, care for individuals with opiate use disorder and LGBTQ+ oriented primary care services. This position involves medical student teaching and could include inpatient hospital medicine with our resident teaching service if desired by the candidate.
Scholarship:
Candidates on the Academic Clinician track are not required to engage in research or scholarship; however, scholarly activity is encouraged and supported.
