(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Job Summary

 

Provides front-line leadership for the Marietta Campus Market location, overseeing daily retail operations, including student staff supervision, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. Serves as the primary backup to the location leader and supports other Market locations and off-site events as needed. Acts as the Marietta campus representative for Self-Operated Vending, Copier Services, and The Print Shop, providing Tier 1 technical support, coordinating print order intake and delivery, and managing service requests for contracted vending operations.

Responsibilities

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Oversees daily retail operations for the Marietta Market, including merchandising, coordination with University Dining to maintain fresh food inventory, and completion of opening and closing procedures
2. Monitors sales performance and collaborates with the Market team to optimize product assortment and implement sales improvement initiatives
3. Manages receiving and processing of inbound shipments, ensures adherence to FIFO inventory standards, and oversees merchandise replenishment and stocking
4. Monitors contracted vending operations across the Marietta campus and coordinates service needs with Retail Services leadership and external vendors
5. Maintains self-operated vending locations by stocking products, ensuring planogram compliance, and coordinating with merchandise buyers to maintain appropriate inventory levels
6. Receives Print Shop orders from retail and departmental customers and coordinates fulfillment and delivery, including chain-of-custody procedures, departmental deliveries, and retail transactions
7. Serves as a local Print Shop resource by providing information, customer support, and assistance with the ordering process
8. Coordinates copier service requests with UITS and Copier Services and facilitates the distribution of copier supplies, including paper, toner, and staples, across the Marietta campus
9. Supports loss prevention efforts through inventory research, issue resolution, and processing of damaged, expired, or surplus merchandise in accordance with established policies and procedures
10. Provides exceptional customer service and supervises student employees, serving as a positive role model while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training efforts

Required Qualifications

 

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Two (2) years of experience in a related retail and/or logistics experience

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Retail or customer service experience in any field
Basic computer skills and experience with Excel
Knowledge of inventory control procedures
 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

ABILITIES
Able to assess needs and determine a course of action in a logistics operation
Able to manage others and delegate tasks
Able to move, unload, and carry packages/deliveries, and operate material handling equipment (hand trucks and pallet jack)
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures, the supply chain, and inventory control
Knowledge of retail store functions, including POS, merchandising, and customer service
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
