Job Summary
The Research Assistant will support a range of research, evaluation, and implementation activities at CSPV. This position provides hands-on experience across the research-to-practice pipeline, including literature reviews, instrument development, data collection, and both implementation and administrative support. The role is designed to provide broad exposure to applied research and community-based prevention initiatives. This position is based in Boulder, Colorado, with the option for hybrid work (combination of remote and on-site). This is a temporary 12-month appointment dependent on performance and grant funding.

The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV) at the University of Colorado Boulder is a national leader in advancing research and strategies that promote safety and wellbeing in schools and communities. For more than three decades, CSPV has worked hand in hand with educators, policymakers, and community leaders to translate research into practice, providing evidence-based programs, tools, and technical assistance that help create environments free from violence.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Implementation & Evaluation Support
- Assist with implementation and process evaluation activities for the Safe Communities Safe Schools (SCSS) National project
- Support data collection, organization, and tracking of project activities and deliverables
- Help maintain project records, documentation, and evaluation materials
User Feedback & Tool Development Support
- Conduct background research on best practices for gathering feedback from users and stakeholders
- Assist with the development of focus groups, interview guides, surveys, and other feedback tools
- Support coordination of user-feedback activities and note-taking during meetings or feedback sessions
Research Support
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize research findings on topics related to school safety, violence prevention, and implementation
- Assist with drafting, editing, formatting, and proofreading reports, presentations, and other project materials
- Provide support for research publications, including literature searches, citation management, formatting, editing, and other publication-related tasks as needed, with authorship credit reflecting the level of contribution
Communications & Administrative Support
- Assist with production of the quarterly CSPV newsletter and development of social media content
- Support preparation of project updates, communications, and outreach materials
- Provide general administrative support for project activities as needed
- Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics for trainings, workshops, and events
What We Can Offer
$25.00/hour.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in education, public health, psychology, sociology, communications, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with the Prevention Science Program at CU Boulder.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both collaboratively and independently.
