The Division of Public Safety at CU Boulder is seeking a part-time, temporary Compliance and Policy Analyst. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Executive Advisor and Director of Accreditation within the Division of Public Safety, the part-time, temporary Compliance and Policy Analyst will assist in carrying out responsibilities and duties to include researching, developing, and coordinating policies for the Division of Public Safety (DPS) and assisting departments and units with inquiries regarding policies and compliance questions.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Development of Policies and Procedures
- Assists in the development, review, revision and formulation of written policies, procedures and guidelines. In addition, reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, university, campus, and accreditation policies.
- Identifies gaps in existing policies and procedures and develops recommendations for new or revised policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational procedures.
- Assists in developing and delivering compliance and policy presentations and communications. Assists in developing communication plans to support changes and updates to policies and procedures, including developing companion tools, training tools and programs.
- Communicates policies, procedures, and potential risk in an easily digestible manner.
Training
- Develops and implements training for DPS employees to create awareness and foster understanding of policies and procedures for the division.
Data Analysis and Management
- Prepares reports by coordinating, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing compliance information.
- Makes recommendations and action plans based on root-cause analysis of compliance related issues and findings.
- Assists with periodic assessments of compliance activities across the division.
- Performs benchmarking/standard process research for policy and compliance initiatives.
Other Duties
- In the Director's absence, responds to compliance, ethics and policy inquiries.
- Stays abreast of federal, state, and local requirements and national practices promoting a culture of compliance and ethical operations for the campus.
What You Should Know
- This position is part-time, with variable hours likely averaging 20-30 hours/week. Work will be performed primarily during standard business hours, M-F, 8 am - 5 pm Mountain Time, with occasional need to work outside of those hours or up to 40 hours/week.
- This position will work remotely.
- This is a temporary position that will not last longer than one year.
What We Can Offer
The hourly pay for this position is $30.00-$45.00/hour.
Benefits
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, compliance, policy administration, or a related field. Years of experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Two or more years of demonstrated professional experience in researching, developing, reviewing, and maintaining organizational policies and procedures.
What You Will Need
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to listen attentively and communicate information clearly and effectively to a diverse group of individuals.
- Attention to detail in the preparation of reports, draft statements, email communications, and any other outward-facing document or communication.
- Ability to extract, verify, compile and develop recommendations related to ethics and compliance programs, issues, policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in understanding workflow and synthesis of information from different sources.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strength in time management, including the ability to respond to urgent requests, prioritize appropriately, manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, problem-solve, and meet due dates.
- Able to work independently and function in a team environment.
- Ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and the ability to learn new systems, as needed.
- Demonstrated dedication to advancing equity and assessing policy for areas where inequities could lie.
- Experience working with underrepresented populations as well as non-affiliated members of the University.
