Position Description

This is a seasonal, temporary role supporting the university's residence halls by delivering essential custodial services. The position plays a key role in preparing and maintaining living spaces for summer events and on-campus guests, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties:
  • Vacuum, dust, and clean assigned areas, including walls, mirrors, and windows.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
  • Perform floor care as needed, including sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, and sealing surfaces.
  • Assist with setting up chairs, tables, and staging rooms and common areas for events and student housing needs.
  • Support general custodial duties to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments.


Qualifications

  • Ability to work the assigned schedule, including required hours and days.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions given in English.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $22.00 per hour

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
