Position Announcement

This position offers meaningful, hands-on work in one of Utah Valley University's most active and visible campus spaces. Supporting specialized custodial care, event cleanup, and basic building maintenance, the role helps ensure the UCCU Center remains a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment for daily campus life and major events alike. Summary of Responsibilities

General event cleaning before, during, and after all UCCU Center events, including bleachers, locker rooms, suites, and hallways.
Deep clean restrooms and other areas as assigned.
Carpet Cleaning & Hard floor care refinish, polish, and the like
Weekly assigned tasks, including, but not limited to, cleaning upholstery, windows, and furniture.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

High school Diploma from a standard high school or the equivalent, and any combination of post-high-school education and/or directly related full-time experience to the summary of duties totaling six months.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and standards.
Knowledge of the proper use of hazardous chemicals and products.
Knowledge of cleanup and proper protection from body fluids, including Blood.
Knowledge of all floor types, such as terrazzo, cement, wood, vinyl, and ceramic tile, as well as carpet fibers, weaves, and backings.
Knowledge of basic pest control.

Skills

Good interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Strong team-building skills: Works to create a team-based environment.
Consistently demonstrates cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.

Abilities

Ability to learn and care for an assigned area(s) and equipment.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, carpet extractors, burnishers, etc.
Ability to understand chemical cleaning application and methods.
Ability to work in and around large crowds of people.
Ability to work weekends as necessary for Events.
Acts professionally when encountering customers who at times, may be frustrated or threatening.
