Job Summary

The Coordinator of Tutoring and Testing Services is responsible for the daily management, coordination, and continuous improvement of academic support and testing programs at the Georgia Southern- East Georgia Campus in Swainsboro. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Success, the Coordinator works closely with faculty, staff, and students to lead tutoring and testing personnel in delivering accessible, high-quality academic support that advances student learning, retention, and overall institutional success

Operating within a matrixed organizational structure, the Coordinator collaborates across departments and works closely with functional leaders on the main campus to maintain

alignment with university-wide standards, policies, and best practices.

The Coordinator consistently exhibits service, collaboration, and excellence as championed by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Student Success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of tutoring and testing services, ensuring accessible, high-quality academic support.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise tutors, testing staff, and student workers.

  • Coordinate scheduling and delivery of tutoring across subjects.

  • Manage the administration of placement exams, standardized tests, and faculty-requested assessments in compliance with standards.

  • Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring services with course content and student learning needs.

  • Implement proactive outreach and early-intervention strategies to connect at-risk students with support.

  • Maintain secure, equitable testing environments and ensure adherence to institutional and accessibility guidelines.

  • Collect, analyze, and report data on service usage, student outcomes, and satisfaction to guide improvements.

  • Partner with the Academic Success Center to provide coordinated, student-centered support.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that advance retention, completion, and institutional student success goals.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least 2 years of related experience

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate across departments in a student-centered environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in both tutoring and testing operations within higher education.

  • Familiarity with tutoring platforms (e.g., Penji) and testing administration tools.

  • Knowledge of best practices in learning support, early intervention, and student success strategies.


Proposed Salary

$45,000.00 annually
