Job Description:
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University's Mayborn Museum is seeking a Lifelong Learning coordinator that will support our mission through administering the Baylor Lifelong Learning program. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating workshops, lectures, classes, and community programs that support the museum's mission of inspiring curiosity and lifelong learning. The coordinator collaborates with museum staff, faculty, community partners, and guest presenters to create enriching experiences that connect visitors with science, culture, and history. Additional responsibilities include program logistics, participant engagement, marketing support, and evaluating program impact to ensure high-quality educational offerings for diverse audiences.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A Master's degree and three years of work experience are preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
What You Will Do
- Assist the Broader Impacts and Volunteer Engagement Manager in the administration of the Baylor Lifelong Learning Program
- Coordinate all operational aspects of the LLL Program
- Schedule all programs on the Mayborn Calendar
- Coordinate all course/event needs
- Work with other Mayborn teams for program needs (logistics, marketing, etc.)
- Assist the coordination of program financial needs (instructor payments, procurement, etc.)
- Conduct evaluation of LLL programs and provide feedback to committees and Mayborn staff
- Maintain documentation for LLL programs
- Serve as the Mayborn Liaison to LLL Volunteer Committees for the content aspects of the LLL Program
- Represent the Mayborn's interests in LLL Committee meetings
- Coordinate and attend LLL Committee meetings
- Maintain documentation for each committee
- Assist in the orientation and training for LLL volunteers
- Ensure volunteer schedules are successfully implemented
- Maintain effective communication with volunteers
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and reports through Volgistics
- Supervise student employees assigned to the LLL program
- Ensure Mayborn Volunteer Best Practices are implemented and followed
- Create a culture where volunteers are a valued part of the Mayborn team
- Assist with volunteers on holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Assist with volunteer appreciation events
- Assist with Portal to the Public trainings as needed
- Provide support to Mayborn Research Partners with Meet the Scientists activities as needed
- Support overall planning and implementation for Sic em Science
- Keep Outlook and Mayborn calendars updated with BI/VE Team programs and activities
- Assist Broader Impacts & Volunteer Engagement Manager with overall team planning and programming
- Assist with overall museum planning
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
