Job Summary:
Research associates perform clinical research related functions which may include patient-oriented research or research conducted with human subjects. Patient-oriented research includes mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical trials, or development of new technologies. Research associates may also assist with epidemiologic and behavioral studies and/or outcomes research and health services research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching and identifying potential funding sources for research projects.
- May assist with conceptualization organization of materials for the startup of sponsored clinical trials.
- Ensuring timely delivery of any materials necessary for the application of sponsored or non-sponsored clinical trials.
- Collaborating with OCRC and research groups on conception of innovative research ideas to address gaps in current scientific knowledge and possible areas to solicit sponsored trials.
- Conducting feasibility assessments to evaluate the potential success of proposed research projects.
- Organizing project responsibilities of junior researchers and delegation of tasks.
- Collaborating on research project design and development of detailed protocols, including for multi-site trials and with collaborators
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of some days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings. Specific schedules will be determined by the position's supervisor.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
- Two (2) years clinical research or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
- Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $56,995 - $72,498.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
