Details
The University of Utah's Department of Neurology is looking to hire a research specialist to join one of the Department's research groups. The applicant's academic rank is expected to be Assistant Professor or higher, but is also dependent upon applicant qualifications. This University of Utah research group focuses its efforts within the area of inherited diseases of the nervous system with an emphasis on spinocerebellar ataxias, Parkinson disease, and Alzheimer disease using cellular and mouse models. Headed by internationally recognized leader in Neurogenetics, Dr. Stefan Pulst, this research group has provided leading insights into the genetic mutations associated with certain neurological diseases, including identifying the genes for SCA2 and SCA13, and as part of collaborative group, the genes for SCA10 and Neurofibromatosis 2.
