Library Technician

Job Summary

Assists librarians by helping patrons use library catalogs, databases and indexes to
locate books. Compiles records, sorts and shelves books, removes and repairs
damaged books, registers patrons and checks materials in and out.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
1. Reserves, circulates, renews and discharges books and other materials.
2. Enters and updates patrons' records on the computer.
3. Provides assistance by locating materials.
4. Answers routine reference questions.
5. Sorts books, publications and other items according to procedure and returns them to
shelves.
6. Delivers and retrieves items throughout the library.
