Position Summary: Western Carolina University's School of Stage and Screen seeks an Assistant Professor of Film and Television Production.

This is a 9-month tenure track position. Applicants with considerable professional experience in film and television who have also taught in academic or professional studio settings are strongly preferred. Primary duties include teaching Producing and Screenwriting courses and advising student filmmakers in pre-production, production and post-production.

This position begins August 2024.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:

Minimum Qualifications: MFA in Film or other appropriate terminal degree in post film production and/or significant professional production experience. Degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution. Candidates without terminal degree with considerable professional experience at a national or international level and teaching experience in an academic or professional studio setting may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications: Has considerable professional experience producing for film and/or television Has significant professional experience as a screenwriter Has experience teaching introductory and advanced courses in producing and screenwriting at the University level. Has proficiency in Movie Magic Budgeting software
