Responsibilities:

The School of Architecture in the College of Arts, Media and Design invites applications and nominations for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position to expand our vibrant teaching and research initiatives for our undergraduate Architecture program. We seek candidates who will work in the area of architecture design and representation with a specific focus on fundamental space, form and material teaching. This position will entail teaching both design studios and seminars as well as leading the academic advising of undergraduate architecture students.

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree in architecture, with experience or clear potential to build teaching and research collaborations with urban design, urban planning and landscape architecture.

In addition to teaching, the role includes working with the academic advising team as the primary faculty student advisor, mentoring students in the program, and participating in recruitment and outreach (both within the Northeastern community and to prospective students). This position has the potential for renewal beyond one year

Qualifications:

Candidates must have an MArch, equivalent or higher terminal degree in architecture. Candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate level and perhaps graduate level. Candidates with a well-developed research agenda that will inform and advance current trends in the field through creative production, experimentation, collaboration, exhibiting and publication will be given preference for the position.
