Job Description

This is a temporary position that will begin on June 1 and possibly run until the fall.

Reporting to the Faculty Director of the Research Program on Children and Adversity in the School of Social Work, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for processing a high volume of requests for the Faculty Director's time and attention, and for managing a calendar, that accurately reflects the Director's priorities. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for meeting support, and promptly responding to requests for supplemental materials and copyedits.

Essential Functions:
* Oversee Faculty Director's schedule
* Help Faculty Director in performing administrative and research tasks (including but not limited to document preparation and copyediting, retrieving library articles, performing literature searches, setting up conference calls; photocopying, filing, and mailing)
* Serve as point person for people who need to work with Faculty Director and manage materials for committees and other constituencies with whom the Faculty director works.
* Interact professionally with a variety of University personnel as well as external contacts providing excellent customer service.
* Must be able to deal with multiple time-sensitive interests requiring the Faculty Director's attention.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree highly desired.
* 3+ years of related experience; combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and manage competing deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organization skills and excellent ability to prioritize.
* Maintain a high degree of discretion, judgement and diplomacy.
* Attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
