About the Opportunity:
The Student Engagement Specialist is a full-time member of the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Engagement. The Specialist position focuses on the developmental support of a portfolio of University-recognized student organizations. This includes frequently assessing the needs of student leaders and developing plans for the enhancement and expansion of student group resources and training, in addition to administrative program management responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
The Specialist is responsible for working closely with student leaders, campus partners, and student-driven committees to provide signature programming for the University using budgets funded by student fees. These events may include the following: Relay for Life, Trash 2 Treasure, Homecoming, and support for events hosted by the Council for University Programs and Resident Student Association. The Specialist works closely with campus partners such as Office of General Counsel, Risk Services, NUPD, and Event Management to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

Additional areas of responsibility will include: Facilitating CSI student leadership development opportunities; serving on departmental and university-wide collaborative initiatives that impact the student experience; assisting in the delivery of CSI and student affairs department events and initiatives (for example, Fraternity & Sorority recruitment processes); acting as a chaperone on CSI trips; and all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in College Student Development or related field preferred with comparable consideration for years of service. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with college students and student affairs programs. The Student Engagement Specialist must be able to work independently on a fast-paced, global campus and possess a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication skills. As a member of the Division of Student Affairs, the Student Engagement Specialist will align his/her/their work with the established mission, vision, and literacies of the division. Frequent nights and weekends are a must to ensure the success of divisional initiatives.
