Job Description

Research Associate

Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience.

The Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry Lab in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College is searching for a full-time research associate.

Degree Requirement: MS degree in Geochemistry, Oceanography, Geobiology, or relevant field. PhD degree preferred.

Job Description:
Participates in the development, design, and conduct of research.
Performs experiments and analyzes samples in a Clean Lab.
Participates in field work when needed.
Works independently on collection of data.
Participates in the interpretation of data.
Presents results at meetings or conferences.
Publishes results in peer-reviewed journals
Supervises graduate and undergraduate students.
May apply for research grants and serve as co-P.I.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
MS degree in Geochemistry, Oceanography, Geobiology, or relevant field.
Prior experience performing independent lab work with complex techniques.
Prior experience with isotope ratio mass spectrometers.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD degree in Geochemistry, Oceanography, Geobiology, or relevant field.
Prior experience working in a Clean Lab.
