Job Description

The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College is seeking a full time Research Associate. The Center was created through a grant from the Social Security Administration to promote research on retirement issues and transmit the findings to policy makers, the research community and the public. The Research Associate will be directly involved in the various research activities at the Center. This involves contributing to research papers, producing descriptive statistics, drafting research summaries, helping prepare presentations and responding to informational queries. The Research Associate will work under the direction of the Center Director and the Associate Director for Research. The Research Associate will also assist in the day to day assignments of student research assistants.

Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

*Bachelor's or master's degree

*Exposure to retirement issues, labor economics, and/or health economics

*Well organized and detail oriented

*Has strong research and analytical skills

*Has strong writing and communication skills

Preferred:

*Experience working with micro data and some knowledge of econometrics and statistical packages, such as Sas or Stata

*Experience programming in and Matlab

*Degree preferably in Economics or Finance
