Job Description

The Recruiting/Scouting Advisor to the Head Coach oversees a broad scope of both Football recruiting initiatives and self-scouting initiatives to ensure consistency between the recruitment process and game performance. This role provides critical direction to the recruiting staff in order to ensure recruitment of the best possible student-athletes. The Recruiting/Scouting Advisor to the Head Coach assists our coaching staff in critical elements of game planning, self-scouting and roster management to ensure cohesion of our recruitment and coaching efforts.

The Recruiting/Scouting Advisor to the Head Coach works to foster relationships with high school coaches in an effort to gain valuable understanding of prospective student-athletes. This role plays a key role in the on-campus recruitment process by being an engaged member of our staff during official visits, works with staff to plan the overall experience of visiting prospective student-athletes and ensures we're providing all critical information during visits.

The Recruiting/Scouting Advisor to the Head Coach serves as a key advisor to the Head Coach in the areas of roster management, player development, game planning, NFL scouting and high school coach relations. This position displays a wide range of coaching knowledge to provide valuable perspectives on a wide range of topics for the Head Coach.

Requirements

Ability to aggressively and successfully market both Boston College and the Boston College Football program through coordinated correspondence with up to 3000 prospective student-athletes is required. Extremely strong personal and communication skills are required for proper representation of the university during constant telephone contact and face-to-face meetings with prospects, parents, high school and college coaches, and opposing staff members. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, and database software is a must. This position will be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with all NCAA, ACC and Institutional rules.

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum 1-2 years of collegiate coaching experience required.
