Job Description

Quarantine & Isolation Assistant

Boston College is seeking a temporary, academic year, full-time, live-off Quarantine & Isolation Assistant. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Residential Life and Special Projects and will receive direct daily supervision from the Director of Residential Education and the Assistant Director of Transitional Housing and Business Operations.

The Quarantine & Isolation Assistant serves as a part of the Residential Life Quarantine and Isolation Team with specific emphasis on providing support to students for the duration of their time in quarantine or isolation by ensuring consistent delivery of university services. Responsibilities specifically include but are not limited to mailroom package pick-up/delivery, communicating with dining around daily meal delivery, preparation of clean rooms for incoming students to quarantine and isolation, in-room hospitality deliveries, as well as supporting the daily operations of the Boston College Quarantine and Isolation housing. This individual will also assist with managing the Quarantine and Isolation Housing email account.

The Quarantine and Isolation Assistant is an academic year, live-off, non-exempt position that will include evening and weekend responsibilities and serves as part of an on-call team that will be available to respond to after hours and overnight situations that arise at the quarantine and isolation facilities.

The Quarantine and Isolation Housing Coordinator will work with the Quarantine and Isolation Coordinators to communicate with students and stakeholders including Dining, Facilities Services, Housekeeping, the Boston College Police Department, Transpiration and Parking, Athletics, and a variety of other constituents to ensure that students receive all necessary services and can continue their academic progress during the duration of their stay in quarantine or isolation while also ensuring that student privacy is maintained.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $34,700 to $43,400; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability and willingness to follow CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 and best practices related to Quarantine and Isolation housing
  • Attention to detail and strong administrative skills
  • Comprehension and appreciation of the Jesuit values and mission, and the traditions and heritage of Boston College
  • Ability to communicate and develop relationships with students and be a positive role model to the staff and students
  • Ability to use the current technology to effectively reach out to students
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion
