Laguna College of Art and Design (http://www.lcad.edu) seeks its next president to lead the college, providing visionary, strategic direction and operational expertise. For almost 60 years, Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) has been a catalyst for gifted students and talented faculty to develop unique creative voices by providing world-class art and design education. Today, more than 700 students are enrolled in LCAD's programs of study, which offer BFA, MFA, and Post-Baccalaureate training to artists, animators, game designers, graphic designers, and illustrators through robust course studies and a vibrant creative community. The curriculum ensures that students acquire both the fundamental skills of their chosen medium through classical and representational training and fluency in the latest discipline-specific technologies. LCAD actively engages and benefits its home city of Laguna Beach. The college is dually accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

In collaboration with the Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and staff, the next president will be a leader who will envision and execute sustainable strategies to ensure the college's long-term viability, financial strength, and standing as a leading college of art and design. LCAD's next president will be ready to lead productive change in service to the organization's long-term goals, while respecting the college's culture, values, and mission. They will also ensure curricular excellence that prepares students for successful careers in their creative fields. This aspirational and results-oriented innovator will work collaboratively to actualize the college's strategic plan. The president will also foster a commitment to diversity throughout LCAD by building an inclusive and supportive environment for teaching, learning, creativity, and scholarship. Serving as the college's advocate and public face, the president will cultivate a strong advancement program to find and build the financial resources necessary to achieve short- and long-term plans, and will provide visible leadership in the friend- and fundraising efforts of the organization. As the key individual entrusted with representing the college internally and externally, the president will relay a clear vision of LCAD's current and future role as a premier educator and innovator for producing tomorrow's artists and designers.

The ideal candidate will be a highly energetic, empathetic, and entrepreneurial leader with at least 15 years of successful experience leading an organization with multiple and varied stakeholders. Leadership in the arts, or an arts-related nonprofit organization is desirable; experience in academia is preferred. The president will have an advanced degree, a passion for art and design, strong business acumen, and a commitment to shared governance. Marked by a track record of successful fundraising, the next president will have shown a proclivity for identifying a variety of funding sources as well as acquiring and cultivating donors and major gift prospects. The successful candidate will embrace servant leadership, serving as a role model to advance a culture marked by a strong sense of trust, clear expectations, transparency, accountability, collegiality, and creativity.

For full consideration, applicant materials should be received by December 21, 2020. Candidates should provide, as three separate documents, a curriculum vitae that reflects work experience from college forward; a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements described in this position specification; and the names and contact information of five professional references. References will not be contacted without prior knowledge and approval of candidates. Nominations, applications, and requests for additional information should be directed to LCAD's consultants:
