Responsibilities*
Peer Educators will be required to:
- Attend 20 hours of training sessions. Training will be held in May. Specific days and hours will be scheduled based on participants' availability.
- Attend regular weekly staff meetings and schedule regular hours during needed shifts.
- Present educational programs on gender and sexuality including sexual violence prevention education programs to campus, student, staff, faculty, and community groups/organizations.
- Co-facilitate workshops, coordinate and organize events, and provide general program support. Peer Educators are schedueld between 12-15 hours per week during the school year and up to 20 hours a week during the summer depending upon program needs.
- Promote events and workshops on campus.
Required Qualifications*
Applicant Requirements:
- Be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at UM-Flint
- Have maintained at least a 3.00 GPA
- Make a commitment to serve as a peer educator until August 30th with a possibility of continuation into the Fall 2019 semester
- Previous peer educator experience and/or a previous Sexual Violence Prevention Certificate participant and/or a previous Leadership and Healthy Masculinity Certificate participant
